Baseball season is in full swing. If you’re thinking about going to a Rangers game with kids, here’s EVERYTHING you need to know.

Beat the summer heat now through August 15 with featured movies just for kids at participating Cinemark locations. Purchase tickets online or at the door for $1.75 per person, per movie. Snack packs are discounted $1 off during Clubhouse showtimes. Get the full lineup online.

Saturdays

Visit Downtown Denton every Saturday for this makers-market featuring local food and products, children’s activities, live music, food trucks, and more. Hours are 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Admission is free.


Friday Night Flicks
Tuesdays

Families are invited to an outdoor movie event at Agora Commons in Corinth on select Fridays in July. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., guests will enjoy foods, games, and crafts before showtime at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.


Fun in the Sun
Tuesdays

Grandscape’s Fun in the Sun series features entertainment and activities every Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. First up this month is “4th of July Party” with a water slide and games, a live D.J., and treats available for purchase. Admission is free.

Fridays

Escape the summer heat with magic shows, animal visitors, sing-alongs, stories, and more. The free shows begin at 10:00 a.m. at The Colony Recreation Center. Doors open at 9:00 a.m.

Sounds of Lewisville

Don’t miss the last free concert of the summer at Wayne Ferguson Plaza with DCTA A-train Red White & Lewisville. Vendors and food trucks will be onsite. Hours are 7:00 – 9:30 p.m.


July 5
Teen Movie Night

Teens in grades 6 – 12 enjoy pizza, popcorn, and a movie at The Colony Public Library. The free event takes place from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.

1st Saturday Nature Walk

Walkers learn about local flora and fauna of the Blackland Prairie during this guided walk at Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Admission is free with a paid $5 vehicle fee.

July 9
Cooking by the Book! Tweens & Teens

Denton Public Library is partnering with Flour Power to offer this hands-on cooking and kitchen etiquette class for kids ages nine and up. Register online. Class is 7:00 – 8:15 p.m.


July 11
Recycling 101

Sustainable Denton will teach teens and adults the ins and outs of recycling, reusing, and repurposing in our community. This free class meets from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Emily Fowler Library.


July 12
Dive in Movies: Elemental

Enjoy the cool of the pool from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m. Youngsters will swim the kiddie area before the movie. The wave pool will provide a place to float during showtime. Snacks will be available for purchase. General admission tickets are $10. Season pass holders pay $5.


July 13
Chilling Out & Crafting Up

North Branch Library invites folks of all ages to enjoy a day of Kona snow cones, create colorful chalk art pieces, and participate in book-themed activities. The fun takes place 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Feed the City

Make lunches for people in need every second Saturday of the month at Rollertown Beerworks in Celina from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Visit the website to register.

Golfers Academy Summer Camp

Kids 6 – 17 can learn the basics of golf at North Lakes Driving range from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Tuition is $240. Refreshments and swag will be included.

Spanish Family Storytime

Children ages 1 – 5 will hear stories, listen to rhymes, and take part in activities entirely in Spanish at Little Elm Public Library from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Get free tickets 30 minutes before the event.

Story Time at Town Hall

Aubrey Plaza Library sponsors a free story time for kids ages 5 and under at Town Hall in Providence Village every third Thursday of the month from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.


July 19
Cowpoke Party

Little cowpokes ages 3 – 6 will pretend to work on a ranch at Lewisville Public Library from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Space will be limited, and free tickets are required.


July 20
Art in the Park: Community Weave

Citizens of all ages will create art together throughout the summer at Cross Roads Park. Be a part of this free community project from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Clay + Sculpture Camp

Kids will be immersed in art at this workshop covering clay, mixed-media, and fiber art at Wildflower Art Studio. K – 2nd classes meet 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Grades 3 – 5 meet 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Tuition is $185.


July 24
The Wonders of Sharks with Shark Bo

Celebrate Shark Week at Emily Fowler Library from 3:00 – 3:45 p.m. Kids ages 5 – 10 will learn about sharks and their importance to ocean ecology. Guests will touch real shark teeth after the free presentation.


July 25
Pops with Cops

Children can ask cops questions, learn about the job of cops in our community, and enjoy popsicles from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at Little Elm Public Library. This is a free event.


July 26
Agora Music Fest Concert Series: Jon Kott Band

This summer music series in Corinth features local artists with family-friendly tunes. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show. Food is available for purchase. This free event begins at 7:00 p.m.

Teen End of Summer Movie Night: Wonka

Teens are invited for an after-hours movie night with candy and swag. This free event takes place 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. Registration and a permission form are required.
