Located in both Downtown Denton and The Colony’s Grandscape, Barley & Board is perfect for a happy hour outing. In my opinion, this restaurant screams class, ambience, and vintage charm.
While you don’t necessarily have to dress up to go to Barley & Board, it does have an upscale atmosphere coupled with fine dining cuisine. Enjoy Barley & Board’s happy hour with handcrafted bites and brews Wednesday through Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. (The Colony) and Monday through Thursday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. (Denton).
2. Barrel & Bones
Barrel & Bones is a craft bar and smokehouse located in both Carrollton and The Colony. I’ve visited this restaurant with my husband on several occasions, and I’ve been impressed each time. The meats have a nice smoked flavor, and the atmosphere is amazing. Barrel & Bones offers weekly meal specials, such as Taco Tuesday, where you can enjoy tasty tacos for just $2. It also offers weekday happy hour specials from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.
3. Bayou Jack’s Cajun Grill
Being a seafood lover, Bayou Jack’s Cajun Grill is my kind of establishment. Located in Roanoke, this Louisiana-style restaurant offers spicy flavors and authentic Cajun dishes. With its happy hour menu starting at just $3.50, you can enjoy a relaxing outing at Bayou Jack’s daily, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.

4. The Dive Bar & Restaurant
The best happy hour restaurants offer more than just cheap drinks — think scenery, service, and quality food. The Dive Bar & Restaurant delivers all four.
Overlooking Unicorn Lake in Denton, The Dive features lakeside views perfect for outdoor dining, and hosts special events such as game nights and free concerts. Its happy hour specials are Monday through Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., so dive right in for a fun evening of delectable eats and drinks!
5. The Loophole
Every hour is happy hour at The Loophole in Denton because it offers all-day specials that are satisfyingly delicious. From $4 mimosas to half-price burgers, this small mom-and-pop joint has something for everyone. Enjoy the laid-back vibe with daily specials Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
6. Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant
If you like pretty drinks and traditional Mexican dishes, then you’d love Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant in Justin. As a family-owned spot, Margarita’s focuses on delivering great vibes and authentic food. Enjoy all-day happy hour at Margarita’s every Monday and Wednesday.
7. Mule Barn Sports Bar & Grill
Another down-home hangout in Justin is Mule Barn Sports Bar and Grill. This restaurant offers live music, drinks, and great American food. Happy hour is Monday through Friday from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.

8. Oak St. Drafthouse
Locals visit Oak St. Drafthouse and Cocktail Parlor in Denton Square for for the relaxing atmosphere, quality beverages, and pet-friendly environment. It’s one of the oldest houses in Denton, and has been transformed into a bar that serves a nice selection of beers and cocktails at discounted prices daily from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Also enjoy the fantastic Greek food served at this beerhouse, courtesy of Feta’s Lone Star Greek food truck.
9. Pilot Point Coffee House
Pilot Point Coffee House is a cute coffee shop in downtown Pilot Point. With its welcoming atmosphere and homey setting, this restaurant is perfect for relaxing after a busy day. Pilot Point Coffee House offers a versatile menu of handcrafted beverages and delicious bites, but what really makes this restaurant stand out is its evening bar. From Tuesday to Saturday, the coffee house features a great selection of wines and beers between 2:00 – 10:00 p.m.
10. Rodeo Goat
Rodeo Goat in Denton is one of my favorite places to visit with my daughter, but I occasionally like to sneak away there for a little “me time” too. I love the old-fashioned atmosphere, juicy hamburgers, and amazing drinks. I also love that the menu has a fun selection of healthy choices, including vegetarian dishes and “nekked” burgers. Visit Rodeo Goat for discounted drafts, wines, and more during Rodeo Time, Monday through Friday from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.
