From take-home activity kits to specialty classes and story times, local libraries offer a ton of free opportunities to learn and discover.
Denton Public Libraries :: Plenty of story times and free kids activities abound at both the North and South branches of the Denton Library system.
From music and movement to sensory activities and crafts, children ages 1 – 3 years can participate in toddler time at the South Branch location every Tuesday from 11:00 – 11:30 a.m.
The Emily Fowler Library offers toddler time on Wednesdays from 9:30 –10:00 a.m.
Both locations offer a rotating schedule of events for children of all ages, from video game nights to Lego building workshops and more.
Flower Mound Library :: Babies and toddlers have dedicated library programing on Mondays and Tuesdays. Sensory kits are available for check out at the main desk. Older kids can enjoy a weekly drop-in button-making class every Wednesday and a monthly teen poets society.
Lewisville Library :: Families enjoy activities for toddlers and preschoolers at the Lewisville Library, including weekend story times every Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Spanish story times for children ages infant to 15 months are every Wednesday at 10:45 a.m.
Sanger :: This small town library offers big opportunities for children of all ages. Events include weekly toddler times, music and movement classes, and Legos at the library. The library also offers a self-paced reading program with incentives from toys to tickets to local events.
The Colony Library :: Elementary-aged children enjoy a monthly take-home art kit, story time at Chic-Fil-A, and music and movement classes. Older kids also have skills training classes like sewing and button making events and a homeschool club.

Parks
Park playdates are some of the best ways to spend the day without spending a dime.
Corinth :: Commons at Agora in Corinth is a one stop shop for outdoor fun. The multiuse space features a playground, shade structure, ADA accessible swings, splash pad, food truck food court, restrooms, and dog fountains for the fur babies in your family.
Denton :: South Lakes Park and Eureka Playground offers a fantastic combination of playscapes, shade structures, sports courts, a stocked fishing pond, and walking trails on over 185 acres. The park hosts free festivals and hotdog cook offs throughout the year.
Highland Village :: Double Tree Ranch park and splash pad has a little something for everyone in the family. The resort-style park is free to the public, but also offers cheap kids activities throughout the summer. Pack a cooler and plan to spend the entire day playing on the splash pad, fishing pier, picnic pavilion, playground, and soccer fields.
Lewisville :: The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area nature preserve has a $5 entry fee per car. Entrance includes access to hiking trails, picnic pavilions, kayak and canoe paddling trails, pollinator habitats, and is home to the restored Minor-Porter log cabin built in 1869.

Denton :: Our college town offers an abundance of cheap and free kids activities and fun for the whole family.
- Parents can share a blast from the past with their kids at Free Play off the historic Denton Square. The vintage video game arcade and bar offers all-you-can-play admission for under $15, a full service bar, and pub-style menu.
